EPW - Külper, Brieg (Johann, 1677-1746), snuff-box with integral verge fusee watch, 57mm x 87mm, silver-gilt original box with two compartments, one with form-fitting watch, KWKS, signed silver arcaded champlevé dial, silver regulator disk, both mounted on engraved brass plate with faux disk at opposite corner, gilt stamped hands, verge escapement, plain gilt mvt, without number or markings. Gross weight of assembled watch 87.0 dwt (135.2 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Ticks and stops, needs OH, good escapement function, plates show little remaining gilding, little oxide on steel components; the piece only lacks the screw to lock the mvt in place; dial excellent, pressed inward at center; hands fine; original box shows medium wear, some dents, dings, hinge repair, reinforced back section, loss of gilding, clear period detail.
